About Canawrap

Most vehicle wraps don't work. Not because the materials are wrong or the installation is poor, but because the strategy, the design, and the thinking behind them are off. The result is an expensive piece of vinyl on a truck that blends into traffic, communicates nothing, and generates zero new business for the owner who paid for it.

Canawrap exists to change that.

The Story Behind Canawrap

Jonathan Glen founded Canawrap in 2008, during one of the most difficult economic periods in recent memory. His previous company, HUB Displayworks, had been focused on experiential graphics for resort real estate developers. When the global financial crisis hit, that market collapsed almost overnight.

Rather than walk away from his background in brand strategy and visual communications, Jonathan flew to a major signage and graphics trade show in Las Vegas looking for a direction. Two days in, he discovered the vehicle wrap industry, and more specifically, he saw something that most people in that room missed: the enormous, largely untapped opportunity for home service businesses and contractors to use professionally designed vehicle wraps as a genuine marketing asset.

On the flight home, Canawrap was born. By the time the plane landed, Jonathan had mapped out the business, the positioning, and the mission that still drives everything Canawrap does today.

What Jonathan Brings to Every Project

Jonathan Glen is not a printer who learned to design. He is a brand strategist who happens to operate one of the most experienced vehicle wrap companies in Metro Vancouver.

His background spans nearly two decades working in brand identity, visual communications, experiential graphics, and marketing strategy. He is a former certified StoryBrand guide, which means he understands not just how a wrap should look, but what it needs to say, who it needs to say it to, and how to say it in a way that actually moves people to act.

That background is why Canawrap has won industry design awards for custom vehicle wrap design and food truck design. It's why over 109 five-star reviews describe Canawrap not just as a wrap shop, but as a business partner who genuinely understands what contractors and service businesses need from their vehicles.

It's also why Jonathan will sometimes tell a client that their brand identity needs to be addressed before a single vinyl panel goes on their truck. A wrap amplifies whatever brand it carries. If that brand is inconsistent, unclear, or unprofessional, the wrap makes that more visible, not less.

The Mission

The vehicle wrap industry has a problem. The vast majority of wrapped service vehicles on the road right now are not working. They're what Jonathan calls expensive camouflage - they cost real money, they're on the road every day, and they're generating almost no return for the business owners who invested in them.

The reasons are predictable. Too much information crammed onto the vehicle. Coverage levels that don't create enough visual impact to stand out in traffic. Brand identities that were never strong enough to carry a wrap in the first place. Designs that look fine as a flat image but fall apart at driving speed in the real world.

Jonathan has watched outstanding business owners make these mistakes and end up disappointed. He has also watched business owners who came to the process informed, made the right decisions, and saw real, measurable growth as a result of their vehicle wrap investment.

The difference between those two outcomes is almost always education and strategy, not budget. That's why so much of what Canawrap does is about helping clients understand what they actually need before any money changes hands. It's why Jonathan created the Service Vehicle Wraps Guide, the Service Vehicle Wraps Playbook, and why he continues to invest in content and resources that help business owners make informed decisions, whether they choose to work with Canawrap or not.

The goal is simple: more business owners making smart decisions about vehicle wrap investment, and fewer expensive mistakes driving around the Lower Mainland blending into the background.

3M Select Certification

Canawrap is a 3M Select certified company. This means 3M Canada has reviewed Canawrap's printing process, laminating standards, and installation methods and formally backs the quality of the work. Not every wrap shop has this certification, and some companies display 3M branding without having earned it. Canawrap's 3M Select status is genuine, hard-earned, and a direct reflection of the standards applied to every project.

Canawrap and Jonathan Glen Consulting

In addition to Canawrap, Jonathan operates Jonathan Glen Consulting, a brand strategy practice focused on home service businesses and trades companies that are ready to rebrand, re-message, and re-introduce themselves to the marketplace. Clients who work with Jonathan Glen Consulting on brand strategy and identity often move into Canawrap for their vehicle wrap work, with the full brand system already built and ready to apply.
